R&R Report Writer® is a data access and reporting tool that lets users design professional, meaningful reports quickly and easily for data stored in Xbase (DBF) and SQL databases. Xbase databases are those created by Microsoft Visual FoxPro, Visual dBASE, CA Visual Objects, Clipper and other compatible products. SQL databases are databases accessible via ODBC (Open Database Connectivity), such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Btrieve, etc.

R&R Report Writer® is a data access and reporting tool that lets users design professional, meaningful reports quickly and easily for data stored in Xbase (DBF) and SQL databases. Who Should Use R&R Report Writer?
Endusers, developers, consultants and IS staff can develop reports quickly and reliably, thus responding better to customer needs and at a much lower cost. Developers and IS staff can also tailor R&R to their users, so that they can create and run their own reports.

Business users can access databases directly without programming, with the ease-of-use of plain English queries and menus, and in the case of R&R for Windows, the friendly and familiar Microsoft Office user interface. Review the report information on screen, printed, and exported via MAPI to other users, or via HTML for publication on the Web. Database information can be selected, analyzed, summarized and presented in a variety of ways - resulting in highly polished reports produced on time, with minimal effort!
Each R&R license will now include both xBase and SQL Report Designer licenses, plus the rights to distribute runtime components for either or both. In effect, each R&R V10+ is an R&R Data Warehouse with the updated features from V10.

All utility programs – Report Librarian™, Rapid Runner (tm) and Data Dictionary Editor – apply to both Report Designer editions and combine the entries from both. (In V9, these programs were entirely separate.) Librarian will list ALL xBase and SQL reports, and launch using that applicable report designer. Create a Rapid Runner report batch that includes both xBase and SQL runtime reports. DDE catalogs table/fields from both xBase and SQL data sources.

This decision greatly simplifies the selection of the R&R product since there is now only one edition, and you can now use R&R with ALL of your data!! And, now R&R can report across all of your data, no matter what system it comes from.

Licensing
R&R Report Writer products are licensed for a specific number of concurrent users, and the software meters usage. Products are available for customers who need single-user or multi-user licenses.
